Quality Suites Temple I-35

My wife and I were denied access to the main lobby and told by manager JAGRUTI PATEL to use the back door because she was uncomfortable with my licensed service dog, issued by the VA. I'm a disabled veteran, and my wife has MS and can't walk. Our vehicle is marked for disabled parking. The back door had no key access. We don't know whether this happened because we're an interracial couple or because we're disabled. We're seeking legal advice and looking into our options. Please let me know if you have any advice.

After a long day of travel, we checked in late to a king suite listed as mobility accessible. The bathroom wasn't safe or accessible, so we couldn't shower. The shower chair was dirty, missing its rubber grip, and didn't fit safely in the tub. There was no shower wand for seated use. The night manager was nice, but said there were no other rooms or chairs and that I'd have to talk to the manager in the morning. She couldn't help at that point. A clean shower and a restful night are a big part of staying at a hotel. Unless things change, disabled guests won't be able to get that here.

Parking is a bit sparse, but the price made it worthwhile. My room was surprisingly clean given the location, and the bathroom looked spotless. The convenience store next door is a little shady, though handy for snacks. The TV took some figuring out but was okay. It seems like the owners and staff care at least a bit about guests' stays.

The good part is that the air conditioning worked well and we only had to stay one night. The rest was pretty rough. The room door's secondary latch was extremely loose, there was a stain by one bed, peanut bits on the floor, hair in the sink, and the fridge was dirty inside. The beds felt stiff unless we used all four pillows, and the TV took me about 15 minutes to work out. At check-in, the woman at the desk didn't respond when my son and I greeted her or asked how her day was. I thought it might be a language barrier, but she spoke decent English when asking for my ID and signature and giving directions to the room. Maybe she was having a bad day, or was just rude.
