Blue Sail Inn

We booked this place because my husband wanted somewhere other than our home office for an online class, and it turned out far better than expected. Lisa at the front desk was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating with my husband, who is blind, and his guide dog. The room was much bigger than we thought, clean, and had plenty of amenities. We could ask for free water bottles whenever we wanted. We lucked into a room in the same building and on the same level as the office, with a great view of Morro rock, Embarcadero st, and the harbor. The location worked well, and most of our favorite spots were walkable. The price seemed a bit high, but there was a car show, surfing competition, trick or treat on Main Street, and witches kayak event happening, so I was amazed we got such a good room. One small thing, the mattress dipped in the middle and could use an update. I found a comfortable position, though, and woke up without back pain. Wonderful stay, 6 out of 5 stars, and we're absolutely coming back.

The location was nice, but the room wasn't. The bed was very uncomfortable and needs replacing soon. There was trash by the bin, and a fake eyelash stuck to the back of the TV remote even though it was marked as cleaned. Family staying in another room also had guests running around and banging on their door during the night.

We wanted somewhere near the esplanade with a water view for a three-day Morro Bay getaway, without paying an outrageous price. This room looked promising from the reviews. The front desk was awesome, really friendly, and gave me great restaurant recommendations.

Our view king room was spacious, with a nice private deck overlooking the harbor, and the views were great. It's an older motel, but the room was clean, the water pressure was good, and most of the waterfront is an easy walk away. The seals are far enough off that you can hear them without being kept awake. Breakfast is a weak option, though there are good places nearby, and getting to the highway is easy.
