Baymont by Wyndham Texarkana

I stayed here twice, in late April and early May 2026, and felt safe and comfortable both times. The employees were friendly at check-in and checkout. The rooms have an old-school feel that I like, and the price is a great deal.

The suite was a good size, which was the only thing I liked. I had to book one because the single rooms were taken. The TV and fridge didn’t work, the amenities were sparse, and the place badly needs a remodel. Breakfast was nearly the worst I’ve had: no eggs, and the coffee was so weak it tasted like tea. I won’t stop there again.

The room was average and looked dated, with older carpet, and my shower had no hot water. The Wi-Fi signal was barely there. The bed was comfortable, though, and I got a good night’s rest. The lobby looked welcoming and somewhat updated, and both the night and morning desk staff were pleasant. I didn’t get to eat breakfast, but the dining room looked spacious. When I checked out before breakfast, I asked about coffee to go. The staff member said she could start a batch in a few minutes. It’s okay for a stop while passing through, as long as you know the rooms look outdated.

Jay checked me in, and both employees I dealt with were friendly and helpful. I’m giving two stars for them. I usually don’t write hotel reviews, and I want the owners to succeed, but the cleanliness needs serious attention. There were stains on the made bed’s top sheet, drink rings and spills on the nightstand, scum around the tub, an old bar of soap in the shower holder, and stains on the shower curtain and a body towel. The towel mark looked like feces. The closet door, carpet, and elevator were filthy too. It seemed as if housekeeping hadn’t done its job. Contractors who were changing out furniture told me the current owners were trying to make the place profitable and improve its reviews. I urge them to get every room and surface deep-cleaned, then hire dependable housekeepers to maintain it. Presentation matters, and until the filth is dealt with, people should avoid staying here.
