Motel 6 Texarkana, AR

Staff were polite and pleasant, and there are plenty of gas stations and fast food spots nearby, plus a couple of sit-down restaurants within walking distance. The room and property seemed nice compared with other Motel 6 places we've stayed at, but the stained sheets and towels and visibly broken security latch were a letdown. The screws were barely attached to the wooden door frame. The sink and bathtub drained very slowly, and the mattresses need replacing, though they were still somewhat comfortable. The price didn't feel worth the stay.

The manager, Jacob, is very nice and helpful. If you're on a tight budget, this is where I go. The sheets are clean and I didn't see bedbugs or roaches, though several rooms need wall paint and holes patched. They call the rooms smoke-free, but they all smell like smoke. Still, it's better than Oyo.

As soon as I opened the door, I had to step on three roaches. I was so worried they'd crawl over me in the night that I slept with one eye open. If the weather hadn't been so bad, I would've asked for my money back and gotten back on the road. Don't stop unless you want to leave with bugs or drugs.

For what I paid, the service made for a wonderful stay. The room was clean, quiet, updated, and lovely, the staff were great, and the shower was great too. The parking lot could use more lighting. Otherwise, everything was just fine, and I got a great night's rest. Thanks!
