The Westin At The Woodlands

The room was good, with a nice bed and bathroom, and the front desk, Sorisso brunch team, and valets were all quite good. There were lots of lovely people working at the hotel, and we had a great time staying here for NYE. I’d definitely come back. The party at Como was disorganized. The regular bar manager was rude and unhelpful, though the bartenders and temporary managers were as nice as could be. The hotel should look into that.

The hotel itself was nice enough, and its staff were friendly and helpful. The parking experience, though, left us with a sour taste. Our room key was supposed to open the garage across from the hotel, but it didn’t work. The booth attendant said guests’ keys had been failing for a month or two. When we offered to tell the hotel, we were told they already knew and still hadn’t fixed it. We saw another guest unable to exit with his key, and the attendant had to let him out after he gave his room information. Other guests said they’d run into the same problem, sometimes every time they left during a long stay. What bothered us was that the hotel knew about the issue but hadn’t told us. Instead, guests were left to hear about it from an employee of the separate garage company, who had apparently been relaying the problem to plenty of people. We also asked about the posted garage prices and learned we could have paid $17 on exit after checkout, since we didn’t need to leave during our overnight stay. The hotel charged us $27 for parking, which lets guests come and go without paying the garage each time. We could have saved $10, and we paid extra for a service we didn’t use, one that might not have worked properly anyway. Ten dollars isn’t enough for us to make a fuss over, but the way this was handled made us wonder how many guests paid extra without knowing, or couldn’t use the service they paid for. It feels like an underhanded way to collect a few more dollars, either by overcharging for parking or pushing valet.

Nice shower and a good bed, but I’m done with the Westin. During Thanksgiving 2025, there was a large mess by the downstairs parking garage elevator, maybe vomit or a milkshake, and it stayed there for thee days. The valet walked past it every day. The outside trash can was overflowing for days, and there wasn’t a trash can in the lobby. Trash was on the hotel elevator floor the whole time I was there. The room seating was bad too. I’m a Gold member with 1 million points and many stays. The desk staff were less than helpful. They put me near kids making noise in the hallway. I asked that guy to move me and asked about an upgrade, but he said no. I felt profiled, and there were other rooms available. The WiFi sucked and YouTube TV didn’t work. The people cleaning rooms were good; I could do without the rest of the staff and the type of people staying there. I don’t need this place or its people. We spend good money, and if you can’t respect that, this is what you deserve.

For the price, this was amazing value. Every member of the staff was polite and extremely helpful. The king suite was very spacious compared with similarly rated hotels, and the 12th-floor views were great. The location near the Woodlands mall also put plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance.
