Quality Inn & Suites Thibodaux

It's nicer than a lot of the Motel 6 places I've stayed at, and the location was great. CVS and plenty of fast food spots were within walking distance. The main hassles were getting help at the front office, where nobody seemed to be there when needed. Calling from the room was a waste of time, and in person meant a short wait. Towels felt like gold, so I had to keep asking for them. Still, it beat my expectations.

The room was a nice size, with good furnishings, a microwave, and a micro fridge. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location was great. What caught me off guard was the $25 pet fee for each pet. I stay at Motel 6 when traveling because they don't charge a pet fee, and there was no mention of this one on the reservation page.

The rooms were clean and spacious, but after this stay I'll think hard before choosing Motel 6 again, at least this location. I always heard good things and thought it could be a great place, but a lot needs to change. The exterior could use a facelift. Our tub and shower wouldn't drain for all seven days. I complained repeatedly to five different front desk employees, and none fixed it. They all gave similar apologies, seemed to know the others weren't doing their jobs well, and blamed coworkers. On the second day, housekeeping collected all the motel's towels, and we went two days without bath towels. At 6'2 and 230 pounds, a wash towel wasn't enough, and needing five of them was even worse. The weekend was worse. We never saw management, weren't offered a chance to speak to anyone in charge, and nobody approached us. We were told a manager would contact us in the morning. Staff repeatedly said maintenance wouldn't come in until later, but over seven days we never saw a maintenance worker or got notice that the problem had been attended to. At the very least, this place needs much more employee training. I hope this feedback helps make future stays, including mine, more pleasant.

The room was clean and the beds were really comfortable. The location was excellent, and the person at the front counter was friendly. The carpet left a lot to be desired, though. The sink leaked, the hair dryer didn't work, and the whole hotel looked worn and in need of an update.
