I tried to book a smoke-free room by the week, but they wouldn't let me. The smoking rooms smelled bad and were nasty. I did get the smoke-free room for one night and paid by credit card. The next day my bank told me someone had tried to take money from my account. I won't stay there again.

The place seemed reasonably clean, and I didn't notice any bugs. It was pretty loud, though, and the noise seemed to carry on all night.

We paid $80, and the place was filthy. There were roaches or bedbugs all through the beds, blood on the shower curtains and chairs, and yellow sheets that looked like they hadn't been washed. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

The shower had great water pressure, but that was about the only bright spot. The outlets were mostly unreliable, the beds weren't very good, and the room wasn't clean. Service was okay, though it could've been better. Things fell apart when I asked the owners to pay for a third night. They were rude and accused my dog of pooping in the room and parking lot. He did go in the lot near the road, but he never had an accident in the room. I kept a close eye on him since he's still in training. He's a registered service animal, though still in training, and I showed them his registration. They said I owed $40 in pet fees and wouldn't let me book another night unless I paid that plus a fee for the third night. I explained that under the ADA they couldn't charge a pet fee for a service animal or refuse me service because of one, and that this could lead to a discrimination lawsuit. The owner said he couldn't get in trouble and could refuse anyone. I stopped arguing and left. After getting advice, I filed an ADA complaint with the Department of Justice. Between this and the reviews I'd read before writing mine, Davidson Lodge just isn't worth it.
