Ms. Kathy was the most memorable part of our stay. Her professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care for my family made the place feel like home. Talking with her was like catching up with an old friend, and she’s a big reason I’d return. I also want to thank the front desk staff I met, along with Ms. Beth and housekeeping, who are often overlooked. We drove 14 hours from Maryland, and the hotel was cozy and convenient, near restaurants, gas stations, and even a Walmart. The price was fair. After an unfortunate incident in the room nearly made us pack up and leave, Ms. Jalicia, forgive me if I’ve misspelled her name, went above and beyond and found a solution. I’d rather not share the details just yet, but I appreciated her support during a stressful moment. I’m still here! Each morning, Ms. Leland Lockett, if I have her name right, served a wonderful breakfast and shared uplifting conversation that got the day off to a good start. Thank you all.

Hometown Inn wasn’t my first choice, but it turned out to be the best one, and from now on it’ll be my choice when I stay here. The history in the hallways was breathtaking. Ms. Ella in the kitchen was an absolute gem, and chatting with her after breakfast was refreshing. My friend, my baby, and I drove from Tuscaloosa for the Miss Pink Ice Pageant on Sunday. I pray I’m not getting the night worker’s name wrong, but Ms. Pat made the lobby smell so good I could have slept there.

The ice storm meant we had to add another night, and the staff were kind and made sure we were comfortable. Everyone was nice and accommodating, and the place was very clean and comfortable.

There’s no elevator, and the bathroom looked like it had water damage. I went downstairs with one bag, then came back up for the other and found the housekeeper had opened the door and torn the room apart, as if she were looking for something. She wasn’t in the room, and I hadn’t told anyone I was leaving. With a big suitcase sitting there, that was very rude. I’ll never stay here again, especially not for $78 a night.

It was quiet around the hotel, which was a plus. The building is very old and had a slight moldy smell, though, and everyone in my family woke up with either a headache or a cough. It was decently clean and will do if you have to stay in the area, but it wasn’t anything special. We won’t come back unless we have to.
