Hampton Inn & Suites Portland Tigard

The evening staff and breakfast crew were fantastic, and housekeeping did a good job. Breakfast was good for what it was, and the coffee was just okay but drinkable. The location worked perfectly for my conference, with easy parking, and I didn’t have to move my car for the four days I was there. There were also plenty of public spaces where I could get away from my roommate. The hot tub was so hot I went beet red in about ten seconds. Kids are around at all hours, too, and I ran into screaming children at 10p on a Tuesday. The morning check-in person was really rude, though the person I was with was rude back, so that got weird. Anyway, thanks!

The heaters rumbled loudly just before shutting off once they reached the set temperature. I mentioned it at the front desk, but nothing was done, and it woke me up several times a night. I was also surprised to spend a week here without room service or clean towels even once. There was a note with a QR code asking whether I wanted to tip the cleaning team, but no one told me I needed to request service or towels. For the price, I’ll try another hotel next time I’m in town.

My trip with my family was ruined by a duplicate charge and the way the hotel handled it. I had already been charged for both nights when I booked, but the front desk employee said I hadn’t and charged me again. I ended up paying almost $700.00 for two nights. They’re quick to charge you by “accident,” but it takes one week to get the money back. They need to communicate better and train their front desk employees. When I asked for the manager, employees didn’t take responsibility or fix the problem. They just told me to wait for my money and lied about where the manager was. I don’t recommend staying here. A spacious budget option, with a large parking lot and free breakfast. It’s new and clean, has a pool, and sits close to the freeway, so getting downtown is quick.
