Fairfield Inn & Suites Toledo North

Robert went out of his way to help us, even drying our clothes when the guest dryer wasn’t working well. We really appreciated that. The pool and hot tub were open, and the beds were comfortable. The room and facilities are dated but clean. Bagged breakfasts with fruit, muffins, and a granola bar were available if you asked at the front desk. We had a pleasant stay and will be back next year.

Breakfast was a highlight: fresh waffles, scrambled eggs, omelettes, strawberries, bananas, and apple juice. We got up late, but the breakfast staff kept things open a few extra minutes and even asked if we wanted anything left out while they packed up. Check-in went smoothly, the staff were courteous, and the rooms were nice. There’s also a nice pool and hot tub. A great experience.

The worst part was having no soap for the sink or shower. They hadn’t received a shipment and couldn’t say when it would arrive, so we had to buy our own. They did have antibacterial soap, but that wasn’t useful for showering. I’ve stayed here before and found it fine, so I’m not sure what’s changed. Our bed was extremely soft, which might suit someone else but didn’t work for me. The bathroom floor had a film that made it slippery, though it wasn’t wet or dirty. At breakfast, many foods had run out and there was nobody around to ask for more. The hallway carpet was heavily stained.

We mainly chose this place for the pool and hot tub, but the water in the hot tub was nasty, only half full, and very cold. The pool was a little warmer, but still hard to warm up in. Breakfast was warm and had lots of options, though the food wasn’t very good. There was no hot water, only decaf coffee, or plates when we ate around 8:30. The first room hadn’t been cleaned at all, with dirty towels, messy sheets, and garbage. The second was okay as far as the bed went, but the bathroom was dirty and the shower curtain was moldy. Customer service was decent, but we left disappointed.
