Provident Oceana Beachfront Suites

We've been staying here since it was first built, and we keep coming back. This time we had a beachfront two-bedroom unit after a family trip to Universal. We like having bayfront and beachfront choices. The place is roomy, with a king bedroom overlooking the ocean, a queen bedroom, a foldout sofa bed, a full kitchen, a bar for four, and another table that seats four to six. There's also a large balcony with seating off the living area. I love having a washer and dryer in the room, along with a full-size fridge and dishwasher. This visit, the dishwasher didn't work, the washer was acting up because its buttons seemed pushed back into the frame, and the ice maker wasn't working well. I'll report those three problems. I still give the place five stars because the guest service staff are so nice, they've always been accommodating about getting us in, and they've handled the few issues we've had in the past. We recommend it and will return. Beach rentals are available, and restaurants, shops, and groceries are a short drive away. Each unit has one assigned parking space. Guest parking is limited, so people visiting you may need to carpool. There's a public lot about a quarter mile down the road, likely paid, where guests can park and walk or get picked up. We've never had guests ourselves, but they have made room for our oversized vehicle and small van RV, so they do try to help. In busy season, parking could be a concern if you bring more than one vehicle.

We live locally and used the beachfront property for a staycation. The view was absolutely stunning, and our room was clean and spacious. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely come back. Also, Ricky T's is a great spot for food, just a five-block walk away.

This was the worst customer service I've ever had. I had to cancel because my daughter was admitted to the hospital the day before my reservation. The host, Provident Resorts in Treasure Island, Florida, said I could have gotten a refund through Airbnb if I had canceled five days earlier. That's unacceptable. Nobody can predict an illness or a hospital admission, and you can't hold everyone to that same standard. Refusing to show empathy or refund the money is ridiculous. What, are you expecting someone to show up even if they've died or become sick less than five days beforehand? Absolutely the worst customer service.

The East building felt serene beside Boca Ciera Bay, while the West building on the gulf side had the best sunset views. From our third-floor beachside balcony, we had spectacular views at both sunrise and sunset, plus a perfect view of the New Year's Eve fireworks. The condos were nicely appointed and the location was great. Looking forward to another stay.
