Comfort Inn & Suites North Tucson - Marana

We felt unwelcome throughout our stay, like we were causing an inconvenience instead of being guests. We only came here because the place we had booked wasn’t ready and sent us to this hotel instead. The General Manager, Sagui Barrow, was rude and impolite. She told me outright that she wished we hadn’t stayed and would rather have sent us back to the other property. Hearing that from the general manager was shocking and completely unprofessional. However a guest arrives, basic courtesy should be a given, especially from management. With that dismissive attitude and lack of professionalism, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

This is a handy spot for cycling and finding food. The rooms were clean, the staff pleasant, and getting around was easy. I’ll keep it among my favorites in the Choice Hotels app.

We booked this older hotel because it was close to where we needed to be, and the room cost more than the online listing had shown. We only needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the room was clean too, but the AC kept the room hot, perhaps because someone had the heat cranked up. The fan was so noisy we had to switch it off, and there was no way to avoid the fan running when the AC wasn’t on. The bathroom made the hotel’s age obvious: a rusty toilet paper holder, tape left on the door hinges from painting, and a curtain rod that looked ready to fall. You had to squeeze the shampoo dispenser bottle, which felt a bit cheap. There was plenty of parking under solar panel covers. It seemed that’s where the money went instead of the rooms.

The first room smelled strongly of feet, and there was urine down the front of the toilet. The staff were very nice and moved us to another room. Maid service was poor, though.
