Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport

The courtyard was beautiful from our little balcony, and the hot tub was a nice way to spend time before checkout. We had Bloody Marys, and although we didn’t eat at the restaurant, its menu and bar menu looked good. The breakfast buffet looked amazing too. It was our first stay here, with my fiancé, and we’ll come back next time we fly out of Tucson. The room was clean, nice, and updated. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but still very nice.

The bathroom’s on the small side, but the bed was super comfy and the food at Sol restaurant was great. Breakfast was really good, and the Salmon rice bowl at dinner was absolutely fantastic. Staff were nice and accommodating with our group meeting. No real complaints, I’d absolutely stay again =)

The check-in was quick, and the front desk person was friendly and efficient. Restaurant staff were generally helpful and quick in person, and the food was good. The room and the service issues, though, made the stay frustrating. The decor felt bleak, with gray walls that reminded me of a dorm. The lighting was harsh all over, and even the lamps weren’t soft or warm, so it didn’t feel restful. The coffee maker didn’t heat water properly. The bathroom smelled bad before anyone had used it, and the shower kept dripping. The door was also hard to unlock with the key card and had to be manhandled open, which was annoying and concerning for both usability and security. The hotel map showed same-day laundry service, but when I called the front desk, they said it wasn’t available. That was especially disappointing after a canceled flight left me with limited clean clothes. Twice, I tried to order from the restaurant using the room phone and got no answer. When I called from my personal cell, they picked up almost immediately. That came across as inconsistent and unprofessional. Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate, which felt like a shifty policy since it was one of the main reasons I chose a hotel over an Airbnb, though I hadn’t double-checked the details beforehand. Breakfast had its own awkward moments. There was no sign saying pastries couldn’t go in the toaster oven, but the attendant lectured me about it anyway. She also stopped me while I was eating to charge for breakfast instead of waiting until I’d finished. It felt unnecessarily scolding and overly transactional.

We slept so well at FourPoints that we nearly missed breakfast. The hot tub and ice machine were working, and after the awful night we’d had elsewhere, that was a relief. I could finally rest, without the itchy, allergic skin I’d had while trying to sleep. I’d been staying at Wyndham down the road and had first stopped at SOL for dinner. The food was delicious and service was fast. When everything went wrong back at our hotel, I called FourPoints around 9 p.m. and asked to leave ASAP and whether they had a room. The woman was so nice, told me they had one, and gave me the price. We packed up and came straight over. If you’re deciding where to stay in the area, definitely go to FourPoints!
