This should be a $60 hotel. The freeway is right there, and the cheap windows let in all the noise. The hot tub chemicals weren’t maintained and it smelled awful. Inside, the floors were dirty enough to turn my feet black, bathroom tiles were loose, and I kept stepping on bits of grout coming loose. The tubs were chipping, the sheets had holes, and there were weird smells. The window screens were torn, and the ice bucket was wet, so it didn’t seem new or washed. They say it’s newly remodeled, but the paint was sloppy and the tiles uneven, like a five-year-old did the work. Breakfast was a bit of a gamble: bagels and bad waffles, then egg muffins on the last day. The walls are paper thin, so you hear everything from next door, and I mean everything. Leave the kids home. The staff and owners were nice and accommodating, though.
The room is huge, almost like a penthouse, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and respectful. Breakfast was complimentary, with waffles from a waffle maker, bread, English muffins, bagels, cereal, cranberry and apple juice, milk, and oatmeal. The built-in spa was great, with jets that felt good on my skin, not too strong or weak. Two people can fit, though one needs to be short. The king bed was comfortable, and even with my back problems I didn’t wake up in pain. The bathroom has a shower and tub together. Just be careful getting out, the floor gets slick when wet.
I stay here often, and the staff always greet me with a smile. They’re so friendly and accommodating, and management is mindful about respecting my privacy, which I appreciate since some hotels can be invasive and nosy. The rooms are always exceptionally clean, from the bedding to the bathrooms. It’s a convenient location right off the freeway, close to anything you might need. This is my first choice and favorite, and it’s never disappointed me. I’d recommend staying here anytime. They also have jacuzzi rooms, which are a personal favorite of mine.
The sign out front says the rooms are renovated, but they aren’t. The bed was comfortable, though the sheets were paper thin and had holes, so I was glad we brought a blanket. The wall around the AC looked patched, the outside window screen was ripped, and the room phone had no cord on the receiver. The entrance was inviting and semi-clean, with a cool Buddha statue vibe, and the location was great. Front desk was no problem. But at 7 a.m. the pool door was propped open with a towel on the handle. That’s a huge safety concern, especially over Easter weekend with families, kids, and 90-degree weather.
The front desk staff were very nice, and the location is great for restaurants and shopping, with lots of other hotels nearby. But the room was filthy. We walked barefoot on the uncarpeted floor for ten minutes and our feet turned black. Housekeeping mopped while we were out, but when we got back the floor was still dirty and sticky. The bed was hard and lumpy on one side, and the towels were cheap and thin. They say rooms have been updated, maybe just the flooring and bathroom counter. Breakfast was the same processed, carb-heavy food. I’d pick any of the other hotels around here.
