Hyatt Place Tucson – Central

Whenever I’ve asked an employee for something, they’ve gone out of their way to help, like lending me a phone charger. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The place is always clean, everything works as it should, and breakfast is fresh, tasty, and wonderful. I wish every hotel operated this way.

We’ve been here four days for a baseball tournament, and our room still hasn’t been cleaned once, even though I left an 11-hour window today. When I called for towels and mentioned the room hadn’t been serviced, they offered me a trash bag so I could take out our own trash. The front desk woman then decided she was finished talking and hung up. I was surprised I reached her at all, since there’s usually nobody at the desk. I’d skip this place if you’re looking for a hotel in the area.

My family of three stayed in a great suite with a comfortable couch and useful desk in the lounge, plus two TVs, a microwave, and a fridge. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I slept better than I ever have. The pillows, sheets, and blankets felt cozy, and I felt at home. The hotel is about 8 minutes from downtown Tucson and the main activity hub. I loved the Hyatt Place and its suites and amenities, though water easily splashed out of the shower because there was no barrier at the bottom. Breakfast, served from 6-9 am, had eggs, waffles, breakfast potatoes, sausage or bacon, and juice and coffee. I liked it, but the oatmeal was packaged rather than fresh, and the fruit was canned. Those could be much better. If you miss breakfast, there’s a Waffle House across the street. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we felt safe during our stay, and I appreciated seeing security on the property. I’d highly recommend staying here.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but the hotel was fine. I’ve stayed at more than 20 Hyatt Place properties, and the room here was comparable, clean, and the breakfast was the usual Hyatt spread, though there was no fresh fruit. The staff we met were friendly. There are homeless people by the corner store next door, and a sketchy motel beside it. But driving around Tucson, we saw homeless people all over town, and the situation is really bad throughout. This property has a fence along the sides and back and security at night. Nobody bothered us on the grounds. I worried a little about my car, but it was fine.
