Motel 6 Tucson, AZ - East Williams Center

We stopped here on a road trip because we were tired and needed sleep. Instead, there was noise all night: doors slamming, a fight somewhere near the motel, and around 2 a.m. a woman yelling for help, then a man shouting and another man screaming. We also heard gunshots through the night. We felt the place was extremely rough, as others have said, and worried about people trying to steal our car or belongings. A group approached us, but after one person in my group knocked one of them to the pavement, the others ran off. Don’t stay here unless you’re prepared to defend yourself.

The place looked like a slum and felt unsafe, so I left right away. When I pulled in, people were smoking pot in the parking lot, a very drugged-out-looking man sat outside his upstairs room, and two scruffy guys were working on a motorcycle. It seemed like one of those hotels where agencies put up homeless people. I saw the same kind of thing in Rapid City, So Dakota.

I stayed for four weeks and have only good things to say. The property was clean and quiet, and the staff were incredible, always available and ready to help. I’ll be back next time I’m in Tucson.

For $400 a week, it’s decent value. The staff are all very nice and helpful, and the rooms I’ve used were free of bed bugs, roaches and rodents. They’re pet friendly with no extra charge, and the rooms come with a microwave, mini fridge, expanded cable and an individual A/C that works well. The hotel itself is pretty enclosed, but outside is the problem: there are lots of homeless drug addicts around, so be aware.
