Comfort Suites Central

The hotel was quiet and clean overall, and our room itself was clean. The continental breakfast had a good range of options. We didn't try the pool or spa. The pull-out couch mattress, though, was filthy and looked as if there might have been bed bugs. The room barely cooled down even after several hours set to 60 with the fan running. Our key failed several times, and the night staff weren't easy to reach at the desk or by phone. The manager, whose name I can't remember, was friendly and helpful, as was the daytime employee.

We were tired and needed somewhere to stay, so we stuck it out after paying instead of asking for another room or leaving. We'd booked a room with an in-room tub for a special occasion, but were told both rooms with tubs were already booked. How does that happen? They offered us a larger “executive suite” that we didn't need, rather than a discount on a cheaper room. We should've taken Lori up on it to get our money's worth, since we paid $140 for a cheap room. The elevator was malfunctioning, though it worked when we checked out. The drop ceiling had holes in several spots. In the bathroom there was a used Dove soap bar in the shower, toilet paper bits behind the toilet, a worn toilet seat, something that might have been toothpaste spit on the sink handle, and dusty towels on the shelf. The pad of paper had water spots. There was a very questionable mark on the couch, and crumbs in the bed.

The mattress, pillows, and bedding were clean and comfortable, and the location was fairly central. But we booked because we were told over the phone the hot tub worked, and it was barely lukewarm. Susan, a very rude manager, kept harassing us while we tried to finish breakfast in the common seating area until we left. The TV remote only powered the TV and adjusted volume, it wouldn't change channels. We won't stay here again. Sleep Inn next door has much better facilities, including an indoor hot tub, pool, and sauna, as well as kinder, more professional staff.

I stayed five days at this Comfort Suites and it was the most disgusting one we've ever visited. We had no water until late the first night. There were roaches in the bathroom, leaves and twigs under the bar sink, and mold on the ceiling. They cleaned our room only during the first two days. Breakfast wasn't up to Comfort Suites standards either: watered-down apple juice, and the sausage I tried on the first morning was gross. A wrapped Danish is probably the safer choice. The location didn't feel safe to me. It's beside a bus terminal, with people crossing the lot all night and homeless people by the dumpsters behind the building. I felt unsafe coming in alone at night. One evening a man who seemed high on meth was in the lot, flinging his arms and muttering at me, so I called my roommate to make sure I got inside safely. She always carries a gun. The only response you'll ever get from them is an apology, with no compensation. Once they have your credit card payment, it's game over. We visit Tulsa often and will never stay there again. Travelers, beware! 😡😡
