La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tulsa Airpt / Expo Square

I stayed here a little over a month with my dog for a work project. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and both the rooms and breakfast area were clean and orderly. The Wi-Fi was strong enough for me to game on my Xbox all night, and the TV was large and smart. The parking lot felt secure, even though this doesn't seem like the nicest part of town. I'll definitely return next time I'm working in the area.

The room was really clean and comfortable, and stayed quiet even though it was near the highway. We checked in quickly after a warm welcome and got all the information we needed. It was the day before Halloween, so we used the microwave and fridge to make Frankenstein s’mores. The room photos online are accurate, so I'm sharing a picture of the s’more instead. Fast Wi-Fi and round-the-clock access to the pool and fitness area rounded things out nicely. We left happy.

I came back from getting food to find the room still freezing, even though I'd turned on the heater before leaving. Then I turned on the lights and saw that the bedspread and pillows looked really dirty, with black specks on the sheets and bedspread. I wondered if they were bed bugs, and wasn't going to stay to find out. I moved my bags and told my niece not to touch anything. The toilet wouldn't flush, and there was splatter around the bathroom and on the tub that looked like blood or diarrhea. We packed up and went to reception around 6 pm to report the room and ask for a refund. The front desk had been empty when I arrived at 3:30 pm, so I called and waited about ten minutes for someone to check me in. That was the least of the problems. I was told the manager had to approve my refund and wouldn't be there until 3 the next day, and that they'd call. No one called. When I rang at 3, they said he'd now be in at 4, then put me on hold. When the woman came back, she said he wouldn't approve the refund and that nothing was wrong with the room. The manager denied all my concerns and was rude and unprofessional. The hotel might be cheaper, but it isn't worth it. Please stay away. I'll contact the health department. Nobody should have to stay somewhere like this.

The price was reasonable, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was simple too. We’d recommend it and would stay here again when we’re nearby.
