The location worked well for downtown events, but the stay had a lot of drawbacks. Our room had several loose or broken things, the walls were thin, and we could hear the noisy road below. The AC wasn't running when we arrived in 85-degree weather. Breakfast was listed until 10, yet everything was shut down by 9:30. Parking is in the next-door garage, so you have to walk outside, and its elevator is at the far end rather than by the hotel's back entrance. The garage stairs leak badly when it rains. Out front, check-in parking fits maybe three cars, and one of those spots was taken by the shuttle van.

The lobby coffee was freshly brewed and really good, and there are some nice places for food and drinks within walking distance. Our room was clean and spacious, with lots of natural light, and the front desk staff were so friendly. Before we arrived, Charity, the general manager, was incredibly helpful arranging everything. I felt welcome even before setting foot in the hotel. Whoever manages Charity, give her a big raise and make sure you keep her. We can't wait to come back.

The marketplace pizza is what turned an otherwise decent stay into a frustrating one. I know what I'm getting when I buy pizza in a hotel lobby, and I'm not expecting anything fancy. But at $8.99 for a microwaved personal pizza, I did expect something around the level of cheap frozen grocery-store pizza. This was so miserably low quality that it felt like a cost-cutting decision, with damp-cardboard texture and cheese that made me wonder what it was. It seemed chosen to shave off a few cents, with “guest value” as the excuse. That kind of deliberate corner-cutting was more aggravating than plain incompetence. Eat anywhere else, even a gas station. The rest of the hotel was perfectly decent: kind staff, a clean room, and comfortable beds. One of the two elevators was out the whole time, and staff said this happens often. That was frustrating, but probably wouldn't have led me to write a review by itself. It's annoying that the place can manage a comfortable stay yet cheap out so much on the food.

I spent two weeks here for work, and as a Diamond member, I'd say this is the nicest Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at. The breakfast was excellent, especially the hot eggs cooked just right. Housekeeping was next level, and the hallways and room were clean. The downtown location is perfect, and the staff were very friendly. Some have been with IHG for 15 years, so they really know their stuff. Highly recommend.

We were in town for club volleyball and check-in was quick, with great, friendly service. The room was great, the AC worked really well, and the beds were clean and comfortable. There was some street noise, but it was Saturday night, and we're not old. :)
