Marriott Tulsa Hotel Southern Hills

The security team and other staff were so kind and personable. They keep the hotel running smoothly, and everyone was accommodating at every step. I’d gladly stay here again on future Tulsa visits, and would recommend it to anyone coming to town.

The staff responded well when we raised concerns, which kept our two-night family stay from being a total loss. They moved us to a quieter room on a higher floor, and the change made a real difference. Packing and unpacking again with the kids and luggage was a nuisance, though. Our first room was opposite what looked like a busy event space. Its door stayed propped open much of the afternoon and evening, and people gathered in the hall to talk, take calls, and come and go. It got disruptive when we were trying to relax. We also had only cold or lukewarm shower water the first night, and the room smelled musty. Condensation on the window panels made us wonder about humidity or ventilation. The South Tulsa location is handy, there's plenty of parking, and the hotel has the expected Marriott amenities. Staff were polite and proactive. It seemed like a rough night for maintenance and room assignments during a busy event. We might return if these problems are addressed, and would ask for a higher-floor room away from event areas.

I can't recommend this hotel after the way Security Guard Crocket treated us. My children and teenagers were swimming, following the rules and not bothering anyone, but he yelled at them even though they're excellent swimmers. Then he came into the gym while I was exercising and confronted me aggressively for not being in the pool with them. He raised his voice and got in my face instead of speaking respectfully about any concern. None of us should have been treated so hostilely. Guests should feel welcome and safe, not intimidated by staff.

The airport shuttle was very good and runs by reservation. Thanks especially to Marie and Candace, who were friendly and helpful drivers. Housekeeping was good too, and the club lounge offered hot breakfast in the morning and hors d'oeuvres in the evening. My room was updated, clean, and comfortable, and the property was well kept. I'd recommend staying here.
