Studio 6 Tulsa, OK Central

The room was clean and nice, and the AC and heat both worked. Still, we’ll avoid this area next time we pass through Tulsa. While my wife warmed up the car and I was carrying luggage, a sketchy guy came from the alley and tried to get into the car. He had huge pupils and even asked me for money after she honked the horn as I came to load the car. It was pretty freaky, even with the bright, well-lit parking lot.

The room itself was clean and spacious, with good beds, and check-in was easy with a nice person at the desk. But the neighborhood made me uneasy. I heard five gunshots nearby, followed by police cars, sirens, a lot of commotion, and a chase that came through the parking lot. A woman in the next room later told me the surrounding area was the main problem with the property, with shady traffic and concerns about safety for kids at night, maybe even during the day.

The room was impressively clean and stocked with just about everything: microwave, fridge, sink, table, chairs, cups, plates, bowls, and ice trays. The TV didn’t work until a staff member fixed it at 10:30, then both it and the WiFi went out again at midnight. The front desk isn’t answering now, so I guess we’re without TV for the rest of the night. I’m not happy about it.

The rooms were great, but I felt really unsafe around some of the other guests. I won’t stay in Tulsa again.
