The staff and location were both great, and the food was okay. The room was a different story for what I paid for a large one. The bed was rock hard, the wallpaper was coming away from the walls, and the extra blanket we got had holes in it. In the bathroom, the showerhead was barely attached and leaked badly. The tub had a large crack that caught my foot, and it flexed, creaked, and shifted around it, which felt really unsafe. The door didn’t fit properly and wouldn’t latch. I don’t usually leave reviews, but at that price I’m going to ask about getting a refund.

The broken bed frame was the first thing that made me question this place. It stuck out from under the bed, wrapped in duct tape, and caught my shin when I reached for my suitcase. I figured I’d mention it at checkout, but after the front desk clerk called me at 11 at night with an attitude, I asked for another room. She moved me, but didn’t suggest it herself, and there was no apology when I offered to show her the photo I’d taken. The replacement room’s key cards didn’t work either, so I had to go back downstairs again. No apology for that, either. I’d booked through Expedia months ahead and had already paid. At check-in I was charged again, which confused me, so I contacted Expedia to ask about the policy. They called the hotel without telling me, and the clerk then called me to “clarify.” She seemed especially annoyed that I’d checked. She said the Mastercard on the booking was different from the Visa I paid with, but I’ve never had a Mastercard. I used the same card both times. She also asked if I’d received the welcome text. I hadn’t, and she said they must have the wrong number without asking for an update. Then the text arrived in my new room, so apparently they had my number. My guess is she’d mixed me up with another guest on the computer. It was late, I was tired, and I just wanted to sleep, so I didn’t question it further. I wasn’t about to pay twice for this awful hotel. I work night shift as a hotel clerk, so I know that shift can be rough. I also know a simple apology matters. I may have been grumpy by then, but I wasn’t being combative or antagonistic. I’m not blaming this employee for facility problems or expecting over-the-top service, but I did expect someone representing the company to act like they cared. I visit family in Twin Falls fairly often and book rooms there, but this was my first stay here and my last.

The breakfast could use Chobani Greek yogurt, like at other Hampton Inns. Aside from that, I enjoyed two nights at this Hampton Inn in Twin Falls. It’s easy to reach coming from Boise and convenient for getting around town. There’s a gas station convenience store across the street and a grocery store a short walk away. For a meal with a view of Snake River Canyon, Elevation 486 or Redhawk Gastropub are worth checking out.

Breakfast was the best part, and the pool was nice. Our room faced the back of Target, and aside from a truck left idling, it was quiet. Check-in didn’t explain where we were, and they switched us to one bed for two adults and an eleven-year-old. The extra pillows I asked for never came, and the bed itself was very uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was clean and well stocked. The location is handy for shopping, restaurants, a car wash, and gas, in a generally safe area. I wouldn’t leave belongings in the car overnight, though. It fills up fast, so arrive early for a decent parking spot. My room was clean, but the hallways and rooms felt dark and dirty, and the hotel is dated and due for renovation. If you’re after somewhere nice and new, staying here probably won’t feel pleasant.
