Hudson Inn Milford

We arrived really late during a motorcycle trip and needed somewhere to sleep. The desk employee was professional, we got a great night’s rest, and the bikes were safe out front. It has an old school feel, though you can see the owners working on updates. Great towels too. I’d stay again!

The beds were comfortable, the internet was fast, and the staff were so nice. If you just need a low cost place to sleep, this hotel is a good fit. It could use some updating, though. The worn carpet and fading paint make it feel like a cheap old hotel.

The room was filthy, the bed sagged, and there was over an inch of black dirt on the counter by the coffee pot and microwave. The air conditioner didn’t work, and the shower drain backed up. Even the desk person didn’t know the restaurant was closed until we told them. Nobody offered anything to make up for such a horrible stay. Maybe the new owner can get things together and realize unhappy customers aren’t good. Keep driving!

This place is quiet and relaxing, and it’s joined with an authentic Asian (chinese) and American diner. Rick, the owner, is understanding about difficulties, and that quality made the hospitality stand out to me. You get clean rooms, good linen, large flatscreens, outdoor access, pet friendly rooms, and rooms with mini fridges/freezer and a microwave. It feels old school and nostalgic. If you only care about looks and assume that’s what makes a good stay, you’d miss the character and quality. This is a quality stay that should have higher rates, but doesn’t.
