Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Tyler

The breakfast was good, and even with a gymnastics event bringing a crowd into the dining area, there was enough for everyone. Our recently updated room had fresh paint, new carpet, a full kitchen, and other amenities, so the price felt like a good deal. We’d been unsure after reading the reviews, but my husband and I were pleasantly surprised on our weekend away from Dallas in Tyler. The check-in employee was helpful and got us an upper-level room near the pool as requested. Rebecca at checkout was pleasant as well. It was an enjoyable stay for the money.

We were already feeling at home with the spacious, gorgeous suite and kitchenette, especially since Walmart Neighborhood Market is just around the corner and within walking distance. My family and I were moving from Central Texas to North Georgia and stopped here for the night. Even arriving late, check-in was easy. It made for a really pleasant stay.

The room was huge, more like an apartment than a hotel room, and very clean. It did look a little dated, but the staff were friendly. I’d definitely come back.

We got a ton of space for the price: one bedroom, another bed up in the loft, two full bathrooms, a fireplace, and a full kitchen. The buildings are a bit dated, though generally well maintained, something I noticed having worked in property maintenance. Wi-Fi and the usual amenities were there, and breakfast was great.
