Hampton Inn Ukiah CA

I felt safe and comfortable traveling here alone, and the room was clean, quiet, and had a balcony where I could enjoy some fresh air and the calming sound of water outside. The freeway is nearby, but the setting still feels peaceful. Mario and Robert were friendly and helpful at check-in and checkout. The bedding and bathroom were clean, and the hotel is very affordable. There was breakfast, coffee, and workspace in the lobby, plus ready-to-go breakfast bags for anyone in a hurry. I’d stay here again next time I’m in town.

The hot tub and heated pool were a welcome bonus, and the hotel is right across from Walmart in Ukiah’s 'Costco Region.' My room on the third floor was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. It was a bit of a walk to get there, but the steps are good for you. They had a plate of fresh peanut butter cookies out shortly after 4. Breakfast was about what you’d expect from a mid-range hotel: waffles, eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, sweetened yogurt, and the usual bananas, apples, and oranges. Fruit and coffee were available through the day. The coffee was alright, though I still never seem to find plain yogurt at a hotel. I was greeted warmly, and my room was ready half an hour early.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the pool and hot tub were kept in very nice shape. Everyone I dealt with, from check-in to housekeeping, was friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay in Ukiah.

I won’t stay at a Hampton Inn again. The room I was given didn’t match the specific amenities in the listing I booked from, and the front desk said my reserved room type wasn’t available. I was told nothing could be done, not a room change, adjustment, or any flexibility, because I booked through a third party. Iris at the desk was dismissive and unhelpful, repeating company policy instead of trying to sort out the booking problem. The lack of basic customer service and any willingness to help was shocking.
