The bus stop for New York is right around the corner, and from the top floor I had a quiet room with no odd smells or sense of being watched. I'm an experienced traveler and know how to stretch a dollar, so after reading the reviews and the owner's replies, I liked seeing an owner who seemed proud enough to push back. I took a chance and booked. It was quick and easy. Just be ready to share a bathroom or pay more for an en suite. The cleaning staff were kind and attentive. I made a mistake and had my checkout set a day earlier than I meant to. They called while I was in Manhattan. I was ready to beg for one more night, but it was no trouble. They asked if they could charge the same card, then emailed me new codes for the door and my room. The call took about fifteen seconds. I'll be back next year with a buddy of mine. Shefah, you have my heart!

The location and price are good, and staff communicated well by email. But I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially since you never know what other hostel guests will be like. There was constant door slamming, arguments in units, loud music in the hallway, and people screaming. It was a nightmare. The bathrooms need renovating, the stairs are narrow and short, and the AC offered only full blast or off.

Staff are nice and communicate well, and I appreciate that the price is reasonable. The bathrooms are in good shape and they provide soap, which is a real plus. But the cleaning needs to improve. The hotel doesn't feel very sanitary.

I couldn't reach the hotel to book three nights, so I ended up using another site. I honestly don't understand how a hotel can ignore every way of getting in touch.
