MY FAMILY HAD A WEEK HERE AND CAME MOST OF THE YEAR ROUND. THE OYSTERS AND CLAMS WERE GREAT. BRING A CRAB POT IF YOU HAVE ONE. THE CLUBHOUSE ADDED A POOL TABLE, PING PONG, AND A BAR. TRY THE HEATED SAUNAS AND CARD TABLES. IT WAS GREAT IN RAINY WEATHER, AND THE WARMER TIMES WERE GREAT FOR TENNIS, HORSESHOES, AND GOLF AT Alderbrook. THE COURSE WAS SO QUIET YOU COULD HEAR YOURSELF HIT THE BALL. WE HAD TO SELL. THE MANAGER AND STAFF WERE GREAT DURING OUR TIME THERE, 1979-1993.

Bring your own groceries, since the nearest major store is about 13 miles away. The internet is free, but terribly slow and almost useless, so I took off a star. The units are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s kid friendly. There’s no AC, but the breeze off the water was enough for us unless you want it cold. The place sits right on Hood Canal, with a private beach for guests and a well kept pool and spa. Nice spot for a weekend or a week away.

The rain didn’t stop us from having a great stay. We had planned a Thanksgiving meal, and it turned out perfectly, except that some family members couldn’t make it for various reasons.

We love visiting as a family, especially in summer. The pool is fantastic, and the canal view from our unit is gorgeous. We’ve all gotten into paddle boarding, too.
