Travelodge by Wyndham Vallejo

After a seven-hour drive, my buddy and I arrived at 2 a.m. and asked to switch to a room with two beds because my fiancé wasn't joining us after all. The front desk attendant was dismissive and wouldn't help. There were spiders on the sheets, so I slept on the floor and woke with itchy skin. Nobody offered another option, such as a rollaway bed. We'd paid for an extra night too, but I didn't stay that second night because the experience was so uncomfortable. The service was rude and unhelpful, and I won't return.

For the price, the room was quite good, and I'd stay again if I travel this way. The small, clean parking lot let me park where I could see my room, which I appreciated. The freeway is right there, so keep that in mind. I had full T-Mobile 5G service and didn't need the WiFi. There are no USB connections unless you bring your own, and the mini fridge has no freezer compartment, but those were minor inconveniences. The mattress was firmer than I like, though I still slept well.

For a super cheap stay, it was okay, but I wouldn't come back. The pool and jacuzzi water looked clear, though it was visibly dirty, and the hot tub jets were almost violent. The carpet was dirty when we arrived, and the mini fridge smelled bad with a strange orange liquid leaking from it. The front desk woman was polite, but when I reported the leak she only wrote a note, without checking it or offering to clean it.

The pool was just the right size, and the jacuzzi temperature was perfect. Both had clear water without an overpowering chlorine smell. The rooms are newly remodeled, comfortable, and clean, and the property is well maintained and nicely landscaped. It's right off the freeway, and the staff were great about anything we needed or asked for. Stay here!
