Solano Inn

I’m a traveling electrician and try to keep costs down so I can pocket more of my per diem. My coworkers found this place by the freeway, which was convenient, but I didn’t hear the passing cars at all. The big palm tree looks cool. WiFi is okay, though it sometimes disconnects and you just have to reconnect. They do housekeeping daily, and the staff are cool. For a traveling blue-collar worker, it’s a good fit. If you’re picky, spend more somewhere else. It is what it is, and I’d stay again if work brings me back up here.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The room was dirty and smelled awful, a mix of cigarette smoke and mustiness. The blankets had burn holes everywhere, and the sheets were dirty, with hair, dirt, and holes. The bathroom door had come off its hinge. I didn’t feel okay leaving our vehicle unattended because people kept walking around the building and seemed to be watching. When we confronted them, they got into a car and left. It’s not worth the stress, but it’s your money, lol.

I wasn’t sure about the room when we arrived last night. Everything in Vallejo was extremely expensive, and this was the only room they had that they weren’t really renting. I felt a little unhappy, but grateful at the same time. This isn’t a Holiday Inn, and we probably wouldn’t have stayed there anyway. This morning they gave me 20% cash back on the room I’d paid for by card, plus complimentary tickets for six to an event for me and my grandkids. I’m so grateful. Whatever else, these people are kind, compassionate humans, unlike a lot of hotel owners I know. #theactofkindness #ididntevencomain

I’ve been coming here from Texas for refinery turnaround work since 2018, and a bunch of my buddies stay here too. Each time we return, we’ve seen improvements. The rooms are clean and remodeled, with kitchenettes, and it’s easy to get onto the freeway. It’s a friendly, family-run place I’d recommend as a home away from home when working. Plus, you can BBQ whenever you want.
