Holiday Inn Express Chicago NW - Vernon Hills by IHG

If I’m in the area again, I’d stay here. It was reasonably priced, with a modern, comfortable room and friendly, attentive staff. Even though it’s in a busy spot, the hotel stayed quiet. No complaints.

The hotel is clean, well maintained, and in a great spot for shopping, highway access, and airport travel. It’s one of my favorite places to stay around here. I also want to recognize the staff for being so professional and helpful when I misplaced things after a weekend stay. I called about a jacket I’d left in the closet, and they found it and got it back to me on January 13 around 3 pm. On January 16 around noon, I called again because I thought I might have forgotten something else, though it turned out that item wasn’t there. Quan deserves special thanks for taking extra time to run around and find an answer when the technology kept failing and dropping my call. I didn’t get the names of the other people who helped, but they were all wonderful. Thank you!

Just a quick, inexpensive business overnight. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good: I had a cinnamon roll, juice, and yogurt, and there were also the usual toast, cereal, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The pancake machine was out, which disappointed my inner child. Still, it was an easy place to stay for the night.

The room was clean and in good shape, though the blinds were hard to open and close. It was a decent size, but the luggage cart couldn’t get past the room entrance, which made unloading awkward. The breakfast buffet was good, and the pancake maker was a nice change from a waffle maker. I’d stay again. We drove to Chicago for my stepson’s Navy basic training graduation and arrived late. The hotel is near a mall with lots of dining choices, but the area didn’t feel crowded or congested. The hotel looked like most Holiday Inn Express locations. There was a pool we didn’t use and a fitness center with cardio machines, a flat bench, and barbells, enough for me to get a basic workout. The elevator was conveniently placed, but it opened into a closed room with the ice machine. I suspect the hotel may have been converted and the elevator added later.
