Hampton Inn Vernon

My husband was stranded there for five days, and they looked after everything he needed. Everyone was super nice, and breakfast in the morning was great. It’s close to all the amenities, and we thought it was well worth the stay. I’d recommend it.

We booked a king studio, and I loved how spacious it was. The room was tidy and very clean, the breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. In my view, it’s the only decent inn in town, and I’d recommend it. The price can be high, so booking ahead may get you a lower rate.

Check-in took about five minutes. The decor is typical for a three to three-and-a-half-star place, and I had no complaint about it. The beds, though, were hard as a rock, and the stay was overpriced.

The pillow request later that evening summed up the service for me. We were traveling with our two kids, and when we called the desk for extra pillows, the receptionist said the whole hotel had just one spare and that she couldn’t bring it to our room. We had to go downstairs and collect it ourselves. Earlier, she had been mean to us at check-in, and later, whenever she saw us in the lobby, I felt hostility from her. It left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. For a stay at the Hampton Inn in Vernon, Texas, this was one of my worst experiences with the brand. The staff’s treatment and the lack of basic service made it miserable, and I feel sorry for the manager, who seems unable to recognize or address this kind of behavior.
