Austin was the highlight of our stay at the Fairfield by Marriott. There was only one room left when we arrived, but somehow he got us sorted and found us a great deal. He was so kind, attentive, and helpful that I briefly wondered if he’d known we were coming. His glasses deserve a mention too, very handsome and memorable. I’d spot them in a lineup. If Austin ever left, I think the hotel would lose its soul. Seriously though, his excellent service made our stay better. If you stay there and don’t meet Austin, did you really stay there?

The room was just average for the price, and the service left a poor impression. The receptionist felt cold and unwelcoming, and didn’t ask whether I wanted the complimentary water or snacks I expected as standard hospitality. The location at Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites was convenient, and the stay wasn’t terrible, but the staff’s lack of warmth and attention to detail was disappointing.

Trish made me feel very welcome, and I’ll see her again when I’m back in the area. The room was a good size and clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. The location was great, and the shuttle to and from the casino was really helpful.

I had a bad experience overall. Even though my company had prepaid for my 15-day stay and had a card on file, the front desk asked me for an incidentals card. The girl said it would be a $20 hold, not $20 a day. My friend didn’t provide a card, but they put the hold on mine for her. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I also didn’t get complimentary water. Maintenance came into my room to take out the trash but didn’t make the bed. The room phones and washer both only got fixed after I brought them up.

The lobby was really nice, and it’s easy to get around on foot from here. There’s a dispensary, Dunkin' donuts, and a bar restaurant nearby. Turning Stone Casino is walking distance too, though the hotel also runs a free shuttle there and back.
