Hawthorne Inn

Melanie was easy to reach when I needed anything, while still giving me space. My room was really clean, from the bed and towels to the floors, and smelled fresh. Breakfast was tasty and just the right amount. I enjoyed chatting over breakfast with you, it was pleasant and interesting, and we nearly solved the world’s problems! I hadn’t expected such a nice stay. I’ll come back if I’m spending a night in the area.

Breakfast was wonderful, and Melanie was sweet and accommodating. The Woodsy room needs attention, though: the blinds were broken, and the shower had cracks and holes. We could also hear the TV and conversations from the room next door.

The place felt homey, and I liked being able to check in on my own. The woman running it was very nice, breakfast was free and good, and the Christmas lights outside and decorations indoors looked gorgeous. I loved the fan in my room and slept well in its great bed. The twin mattresses in our other room weren’t as comfortable, but they were manageable. A couple of things could be improved: there were no USB charging ports, and the tub had nowhere to set shampoo, body wash, or other shower items, which made bathing awkward. A small caddy or shelf nearby would help. It was a great stay, and I’d definitely recommend it. Thank you.

Melanie gave us a lovely welcome. The Barrister room was spotless, amazing, and very comfortable. The Hawthorne is beautiful and peaceful, and I’ll absolutely stay there again when I’m visiting family in the area. A big thank you to Melanie, she’s a wonderful host.
