Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg, Ms.

We were very happy with the RV park's utilities, roomy site, price, and staff. I only wish there were a fenced dog park. The grassy area behind the sites, with the bench and picnic table, would be perfect for one.

The safe didn't work, the TV barely functioned, and there was construction noise during the day. Then, on the last day of our stay, the city water went out. The hotel didn't offer bottled water to make up for the inconvenience. Shouldn't the room rate have been reduced?

Whenever I'm in Vicksburg, this is the casino I choose. I've been coming here regularly, and of the four casinos along the Mississippi River nearby, Ameristar is easily my favorite. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting town!

I'm grateful we had somewhere safe and warm to stay, with a shower, since my mother's home was without power all week. The winter storm outage also meant we could extend our stay. But the hotel is raggedy and needs a huge renovation. The place looked old when we walked in, and a dresser door was hanging off, barely attached. The bathroom was fine, but we had to rig the toilet to get it to flush; after the first flush it kept making noise. The bed was okay, though I think the mattress needs replacing. There was no room service or cleaning. I understand Covid happened, but when someone's staying for a long time, I feel like the room should be cleaned at some point. The lighting was poor, and the remote barely worked. I had to hold it at just the right angle to change channels or turn up the TV. Go somewhere else.
