Harbor Landing Resort

The outside doors were left unlocked in the evenings, so anyone could wander in, and I noticed a few people from the transient camp outside doing just that. That felt unsafe. Our room was damp, musty, small, and depressing, and we could hear the people next door cough or turn over in bed. The shower was cold, and when we asked for shampoo, we were told they didn't have any. The furniture was rickety and the room was so cramped that we spent evenings in the public areas or on the patio. We traded a luxury hotel in Mexico through a timeshare exchange, expecting a one-bedroom suite, but got a king room instead. When we said Interval was supposed to assign us a larger room, they said nothing else was available. We paid $70 each for membership at the Mansion Inn across the street so we could use warm showers, yoga classes, the hot tub, steam room, and pool. Our days were busy biking to other towns and taking the ferry to Nantucket. We had booked a week, but by day four we'd had enough and booked another hotel in Edgartown. We won't return to The Harbor Landing, and strongly suggest others avoid it if they value their time, sanity, and integrity.

The place smelled of mold throughout, and the rooms were incredibly small. The bathroom floor was moldy, with only rusted-out holes where the hook should have been. The towels and sheets felt like dollar-store quality. There were homeless people hanging out in the parking lot next door every day. The shared kitchen was a mess each day and had no dishwasher, and there was no washer or dryer on site. Never again.

The location is hard to beat. We can walk to shops, restaurants, the ferry, bus stop, and grocery store. We’ve been coming to Harbor Landing for years and highly recommend it. The clean, cozy rooms keep getting better as they continue working on the property. We also love having the communal kitchen, since we can keep food around instead of going out for every meal, and we enjoy cookouts on the patio grills.

The window is larger than in other hotels on MV Island, and the room was clean. The location is good too. Mr. Dammar was especially kind and quick to help with all my requests. He was great.
