We paid extra for a kitchenette, but there were no dishes, cookware, or silverware. There was sand in the beds, and we only got two towels for four guests. When we asked for two more, they gave us one. The floors were filthy, and when we asked for a broom, they said they don’t use them and handed us a black mop. We also got eaten up by bugs.

The price was reasonable, and the whole stay felt comfortable and welcoming. The hotel was clean and well kept, and the staff were extremely friendly. The owner and manager were both kind and professional. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly place to stay in Virginia Beach.

After three days and some time dealing with the staff, I’m raising my service rating to a three. They did try to work with me, and on Sunday they locked the parking gate, which helped with the sketchy people and the full lot. If you won’t spend much time in the room and bring your own blanket, you’ll manage. The room wasn’t cleaned even after I asked twice. I left so they could tidy it, but came back to the same dirty sheets and piles of dirt on the floor. I wasn’t given towels or washcloths, and there was nowhere to hang clothes or set a suitcase. The hairdryer was melted, every bathroom drain was broken, and there was a sewage-like smell. Just awful, don’t stay here.

The smoke detector kept beeping because it needed batteries, and the toilet seat was filthy while the sink wouldn’t drain. The beds had mystery stains, the floor hadn’t been swept, and all the tables and surfaces were dirty. The listing said parking was available, but there weren’t enough spaces for the guests, so we had to pay to park a couple of blocks away. We booked because of the great reviews on booking.com, but that was a mistake. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.
