Red Roof Inn PLUS+ & Suites Virginia Beach – Seaside

After escaping domestic violence, this stay has meant more to me than they know, especially over the holidays. Everyone here has been kind, from housekeeping and the parking lot crew to the front desk at all hours. There isn’t an unfriendly face around. Property manager Lena is incredibly kind, and staff go above and beyond as long as you follow the rules. I was surprised by how clean the rooms were. It made me realize how much I’d wasted at a nearby Hilton-affiliated hotel with fewer amenities, less cleanliness, and less kindness. The location is convenient, with a laundromat nearby and a walkable 7-Eleven across the street. They’re also extremely service-animal friendly: if your dogs are legitimate service animals and you pick up after them, staff treat them like their own. My dogs loved the balcony rooms, where they could sunbathe, watch the lake, and even see the beach. It gave them great mental stimulation. Staff also gave me a helpful list of local restaurants and suggested a nearby dog park. They’ve seen it all, so please be kind to them. They deserve it.

We love this Inn and have stayed twice, two years apart. It’s been renovated and is still clean and well kept. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the staff are always kind, courteous, and helpful. It’s across the street from the beach, and the complimentary breakfast is nice too. We highly recommend it for a good night’s sleep and a pleasant stay.

Nate made check-in easy. He was welcoming and even let us see the room before we started. Leonard was a real pleasure too, and clearly worked hard. We had a nice third-floor suite with two beds, a pullout couch, and a small kitchen with a fridge. The room was a little noisy because of the flooring, and there was a ledge to step over going into the bathroom. It wasn’t as close to the beach as I’d hoped, but it was still a nice hotel.

The location made this a great choice for a beach trip, just a block from the sand and an easy walk to the summer activity along the main strip. I felt safe here, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size, with two full beds and a pullout couch. The small bathroom and weak shower pressure weren’t ideal, though the shower and sink dispensers for soap and lotion were handy. Breakfast tasted good, but the area was so cramped that people bumped into each other and diners. They could remove some of the already limited seating and provide trays for carrying food back to the rooms. The clean, nice-smelling check-in area was a good first impression for a budget beach hotel.
