We had our 30th anniversary here and would like to return with our family, rent rooms in the same house, and enjoy the patio together. We ate inside this time, though the patio looked beautiful for outdoor dining. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. Our motorcycle had adequate parking and was secure. The room was small but quaint, with a comfortable bed and a ceiling fan that was a nice touch. It was so quiet overnight and in the morning that we slept until 9 a.m. Breakfast was an avocado omelet, bacon, hash browns, fruit, juice, coffee, and tasty crumpets. We were disappointed the restaurant was closed the day we visited, so we had a nice dinner elsewhere. It cost a little more than we’re used to, but felt well worth it.

Edith Palmers has a lovely historic charm, and the photos don’t really do it justice. We liked that it was just off the beaten path but still an easy walk to Main Street. My husband thought the TVs should be bigger, though who comes to Virginia City to watch TV? We spent two nights at this cozy little B&B. The rooms were clean, quiet, and beautifully furnished in an 1800s style. Breakfast was delicious and more than we could eat, served in a lovely little dining room.

We went with the family, and everyone enjoyed the food, including my sons (8 and 13). The beer list was great, especially for Trappist beers. The dishes were delicious, like what you’d get at pricier restaurants in big cities, but better value. Great food and super service. I’d recommend it to anyone stopping in VC.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years and highly recommend it. The rooms have an 1800s style, and breakfast comes with the stay. It’s a proper breakfast, not continental, with bacon, eggs, pancakes, and all the fixings.

We stayed at the turn-of-the-century Silver Street House, in the room named William O'Brien, one of four named after the Irish miners known as the Silver Kings of the Comstock. It had the famous "One Hundred Mile View" down 6-Mile Canyon to Carson Plains and beyond. In the room were a queen bed, old-fashioned make-up table that I used as a laptop desk, ceiling fan, window air conditioning unit, full bathroom, and small flat screen TV. The inn sits a street above the main street, peaceful and quaint, with courtyards between the houses where you can sit in the shade with a book or just enjoy nature. A pair of quail explored the grounds during our stay. Beneath the shade of a tree in the courtyard, we had breakfast outside because it was such a cool, beautiful morning. Edith Palmer's Country Inn serves home-cooked breakfast to order in the Cider Factory, originally established in 1863, with seating inside and outside. We had fluffy homemade pancakes topped with chunky raspberry syrup and whipped cream, plus scrambled eggs and bacon, coffee, and our choice of juice. The syrup and cream added a little sweetness, and the bacon was perfectly cooked, smoky, and salty. The eggs were bright yellow and fluffy. After a restful sleep, it was hard to get up. The morning sun had come in from the east, and the town was quiet and serene up on B Street, with a beautiful view of the valley and surrounding mountains. A lizard basking in the morning rays greeted us at the front of the Silver Street House. I think he wanted his picture taken, the way he posed for the camera.
