Budget Inn

The worn, stained carpet and the rest of the room’s condition made this stay feel like a health hazard. There was black mold in the wall corners, especially in the bathroom, and the damp, unventilated space seemed to let it thrive. Drywall was crumbling, insulation was exposed in places, and the bathroom ceiling looked unfinished enough to make me worry it could come down. Construction dust coated surfaces, with peeling paint and furniture that looked salvaged from a condemned building. The bedding was stained and seemed unhygienic, and there was a musty smell that may have come from the mold. Even the lobby smelled strongly of dampness and decay, with a gym-sock odor. When I complained about the conditions, management just shrugged them off. This place advertises budget lodging, but I found it uncomfortable and badly neglected. Anyone who gave it five stars is a fake account from Mumbai. I’d give negative stars if I could. Save your money and sanity, even budget options in Waco are better.

There were bugs coming out of the bathtub, feces on the walls, and stains on the floor I didn't want to identify. Walking in, the smell hit like a punch, a mix of poop, mold, and death. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.

The room was worn down, but decent enough for a night. It cost $65, with no deposit required. The water got hot, the AC was cold, and the bed was decent. There was a refrigerator and microwave, though no hairdryer, coffee maker, ironing board, or hangers.

The curtains blocked light well, and probably sound too, while the soft beds made it easy to fall asleep. Check-in was easy and the stay was pleasant. The small bathroom window slides open since there’s no fan. My only annoyances were the tiny body towels and doorknobs you have to jimmy to turn.
