Cambria Hotel Waco Univ Riverfront

Our son and his baseball team stayed two nights last week for Round 4 of high school baseball, and everyone was courteous. The boys enjoyed the stay. When a jersey got left behind, the staff promptly followed up to locate it. We were especially grateful to Marilyn for helping reunite our son with it. Thanks for being part of the journey to State Championships! ♥️

The conference center had plenty of meeting space, and breakfast was included for our meeting. The food was hot and fresh. My business trip went well, with quick check-in and check-out, and an updated room with a good layout. I didn't hear any doors slam, so either the floor was nearly empty or the walls are well insulated. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily, the AC works fine. Nice hotel, who knew Choice had upscale locations? I'll stay again, maybe next time I'll try the in-house restaurant.

The pools, hot tub, and generous outdoor seating gave families plenty of room to enjoy being outside. The downstairs bar and restaurant were convenient, and Patrick made breakfast feel welcoming with attentive service. We came with family for Baylor Homecoming weekend, and the hotel felt both modern and homey. The rooms were spacious, with high-tech touches and luxurious design. I'm picky about hotel pillows, and theirs were genuinely comfortable. Everything felt clean and cared for from arrival to departure. I had one of the best nights of sleep I've had while traveling, and even sat down over breakfast to write this, which I almost never do. I'm in the hotel industry, and I felt looked after throughout. I'd recommend staying here.

I couldn't sleep well because the room was too warm, and there was constant stomping overhead from about 9pm to 1am, like people having a party in an apartment. The thermostat showed 69 even though I set it to 65, and it stayed off all night. Its backlight also flickered when I tried to change the temperature. I told the front desk, and she asked how they could make it right. I asked for a complimentary stay. Since I'd booked through a third party, she said she couldn't refund me, but gave me two business cards. I emailed the GM and another person with a photo of the thermostat setting and my complaint. Management offered a complimentary stay, and I'm looking forward to trying again. The hotel and staff were absolutely wonderful, but the stay itself was horrible.
