Best Western Waldo Inn and Suites

The staff were polite, the room was clean enough, and the appliances worked. Still, the room needs some maintenance. The closet door wouldn't open, the shower's hot and cold controls were reversed, and the toilet didn't flush reliably. The room door also didn't latch by itself, which made me uneasy about security. Housekeeping wasn't automatic either, so I had to request fresh linens or trash removal. The bed was a thin mattress on a metal frame, and the pillows were so flat I needed to stack several to get comfortable. Another guest called them “poverty pillows,” which seemed about right. There were plenty of outlets, though the TV had few cable channels and its remote was awkward to use. Breakfast was the usual toast, bagels, basic eggs and sausage, and a waffle maker. The waffle maker was out of order for most of my several-day stay, taking away one of the few breakfast extras. This was a functional, acceptable stay, but the Best Western in Waldo, Florida could use some focused investment to meet the standard people expect from the brand. It's fine for a night on the road, but anyone looking for comfort and reliable amenities may find better value elsewhere.
