Travelodge by Wyndham Walterboro

We decided at the last minute to stop for the night instead of continuing our drive, and booked easily through Expedia. The gentleman checked us in quickly and was pleasant even though it was late. The room was clean, the bed VERY comfortable, and I felt safe using the granite shower. With balance problems and two newer hips, I really appreciated that I couldn't slip in it. It's an affordable 2-star hotel with easy access to I-95. Ask for a second-floor room, though, because sound carries between floors. There's laminate flooring rather than carpet, and I imagine footsteps above could get irritating. We'd stay again if we get the chance.

The man at the desk was cheerful, and the housekeeper we saw the next day was friendly too. The flowers and plants around the property were beautiful, and made me miss the ones I left at home a week ago. Breakfast was plenty for my mom and me since neither of us eats much in the morning. We just needed somewhere to sleep before getting back on the road. It was plain and clean enough for us. I dusted beneath the TV and picked something up from behind the bed, but it was fine in my opinion. The price was great. I always leave a tip for the housekeeper as a little thank you.

It's an older place, and you can see its age in some things, but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly when we needed anything. There's no coffee in the room, and breakfast was pretty minimal, though it got us through the morning hunger.

The owner was helpful, got us ice, and pointed out the food market next door. We felt safe, and the room was clean for our quick overnight stop. It had a comfortable mattress, refrigerator, and microwave.
