Holiday Inn Express & Suites Youngstown N (Warren/Niles) by IHG

We’ve moved away from the area, but we’ll always stay here when we come back. It’s close to everything, and the place is clean with good amenities and attentive staff. They were thoughtful when we asked for a quieter area because my son has autism, and arranged it without question. Another time, our nephew was waiting in the lobby for someone we knew to pick him up for bowling. Staff checked with us to make sure he was okay. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Terri was genuinely kind and helpful. She offered a discount, which was nice, but I especially appreciated how sincere she was and how willing she was to help. The room itself was average. The heated indoor pool felt freezing, the hot tub wasn’t working, and renovations made it pretty noisy.

I slept better here than I do at home, and everything was very clean. Margaret from House Keeping is a real gem, and Tammy was great too. Nicholas at the front desk was engaging and knew what he was doing. I’d definitely stay here again.

I’ve stayed here often in the past, and the afternoon happy hour used to be a nice touch. The breakfast isn’t what it used to be, and a noisy air conditioner outside my downstairs window made the stay unpleasant. I reported it at the front desk on Monday, when I checked in, and the employee said they knew and had told someone. I didn’t think she mishandled my complaint. She acknowledged the issue and said management had been informed, which seemed honest. I hope the staff don’t get a hard time over it. The problem was still there six days later, on Sunday, at a busy hotel. I think they can afford to replace the unit and put guests’ sleep first. I told Terry that looking for the cheapest company sounded like putting cost ahead of guests’ comfort. She later called to talk it through and apologized for how my comment had been handled, though I hadn’t felt mishandled at the desk. She then said they were trying to find a company with spare parts, but that didn’t line up with what she’d said about finding the cheapest company. She offered to remove one night from my bill. I said I hadn’t called for that, but she could add a credit for a future stay if she wanted to do something, so she agreed to put it in points. I’m underwhelmed by maintenance. The staff were fantastic, and I had no problems with anyone at the desk or in housekeeping. I was surprised the hotel manager called to say the air conditioner was still broken because they were looking for the “cheapest company.” Actions speak louder than words, and after six days, leaving that nuisance of a loud unit unfixed says a lot.
