The Hamlet Inn at Warwick

We booked just one night because we'd read so many bad reviews, but we could have stayed longer. The room was basic, yet clean and comfortable, and we don't spend much time in the room anyway. It's very close to town, so I think it's fine if the hotel itself isn't the main reason for your trip.

The rooms were clean and the location felt safe. The front desk staff were very nice, and service came quickly. Good for short or long stays, though parking is tight.

I knew this was a mom-and-pop motel, so I wasn't expecting a new facility. I did expect a clean room. The floor, baseboard, walls, tub, microwave, and fridge-freezer were all very dirty. The closet door had come off its track, and there was a missing floorboard or hole under the carpet by the closet. The air conditioner smelled of mildew or mold and made the room smell too. I wasn't happy with the stay. Before posting, I emailed the owner. They apologized and said they appreciated hearing privately so they could prevent it happening again, and hoped I'd give them another chance on a future visit. There was no effort to make it right during this stay, just a hope I'd spend my money there again. No thanks.

The Hamlet Inn is a small, family-run motel, and I checked in after 10 p.m. with no problem. It's not a five-star hotel, but the value earned it five stars from me. The room seemed recently refurbished, with new carpets and beds, everything was clean, and the air system and heater worked well.
