We’d definitely stay here again. My husband and I got a good deal, and the hotel is close to the museums and other things to see in DC. It feels different from a regular hotel, with a great atmosphere. Check-in on the iPad was easy, and someone was there to help. We could choose whether we wanted a courtyard view or one facing the other side of the building. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and it was quiet. The rooms are on the small side, but that worked for us since we were only sleeping and showering there. We liked using the iPad to control everything in the room. Breakfast was great, there’s a rooftop sushi bar with a great view, and downstairs there’s a nice dining and bar area. The parking garage is right next door and offers overnight parking.

The hotel's location worked well for my meetings. I could easily walk to the Wharf for social events or take the Metro to explore the city. The room was compact, which caught me off guard, but it met my needs. I wasn't told that rooms no longer come with cups and that you have to get them from the bar. That seems odd. The blinds and blackout curtain worked well, and I heard a surprising amount of noise from hallway doors, though nothing from the rooms on either side. The duvet was fine, but I would've liked a flat sheet too. The ventilation and temperature seemed unresponsive to the iPad settings, though luckily the room stayed tolerable.

The modern room had a tablet for controlling everything, which I really liked, and the small refrigerator was a nice extra. The hotel's location is excellent for getting around on foot, with NASA Headquarters and the Smithsonian museums an easy walk away. I did find the shower pressure disappointing, and the heat didn't quite keep the room as warm as I wanted, so it felt chilly at times. It's a convenient place to stay, and I hope they can address those two issues.

The staff members were great, and the inside was nice and clean. But the rooms are just too cramped for me. Why do I have to get in bed to watch TV, and why is the toilet only three inches from the shower? Having to pick up an iPad to change the TV channels is annoying too. The bar needs a better food selection. I'm also unsure about how they clean the glass water bottles they give guests for free and reuse later, since the bottle openings are so small. This hotel just isn't for me.
