We stayed three nights in a king efficiency suite with a kitchen. The room looked like the pictures, was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable bed with four pillows. From the courtyard facing room, we didn’t notice road noise. The location is amazing, across K street from the Potomac, with a park, restaurants, and walking path. There’s self parking at several nearby Colonial locations, $23 for 24 hours. Staff were cordial, though sometimes a little standoffish. I spent $125 at Safeway to cook in, but the kitchen was poorly equipped. Maybe guests walk off with things? There were no kitchen towels, no baking sheets for the oven, and only one fork. You have to make do with the towels allotted to the room. The GE appliances worked well, but don’t expect basics like salt, you need to bring everything for cooking. The Keurig was there, but the front desk had run out of regular coffee. I asked for a clean set of replacement towels, one washcloth, hand towel, and bath towel per person, and came back to find two towels. Good value for DC, and I’d return with different expectations.

The shower was a highlight, the temperature adjusted quickly, and I loved having a full kitchen with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, and cooking ware. The room itself was huge, clean, chic, and modern. It felt like a furnished apartment with the basics for a stay, though there are a few things that could be improved. I stayed one night in early November 2022 and had a pleasant time. The area is great. It’s a short walk to catch a bus, while the metro takes a bit more walking toward Foggy Bottom. Soap and shampoo weren’t provided, so bring your own. We couldn’t adjust the thermostat. The TV and WiFi worked fine, though I did lose the WiFi connection a few times. I feel for people who’ve had a bad experience here, but I’d definitely stay again when I’m in the DC area.

We had a newly renovated, clean, spacious basement room with a kitchenette. There were windows looking onto an underpass, but it was still a basement. The location is handy for the Georgetown Waterfront and M St, and there’s a nice playground within walking distance. If you just need an affordable, clean place to sleep, it meets the basics. Expect limited amenities and no customer service. The place has a strange, uncomfortable feel, and I wouldn’t stay again. It doesn’t feel like a hotel, more like an apartment building with short term rentals, and it was unclear at check-in whether we were even in the right place. We felt unwelcome, and the staff were unprofessional. We arrived early and asked to leave our bags. They wanted $10 per bag to leave them out in the lobby. While we waited, staff kept complaining about other guests and about having to be there. The group ahead of us had booked two rooms and showed their confirmation email, but were given one, and staff did nothing to fix it. We didn’t get enough towels, a bath mat, hand towels, bedding for the sleep sofa, soap, shampoo or conditioner, paper towels, or anything for cleaning the kitchen. There was nowhere to hang towels, and breakfast isn’t included. Reviews from before 2022 seem to describe the old hotel, while this appears to have become apartments with short term rentals owned by LuxUrban.

The staff were kind and friendly, and there’s a nice recreation room downstairs with two pool tables, several other tables, and washers and dryers. The workout room looked decent, though we didn’t try it since we were already walking around DC every day. We were there about a week and might stay again. The space worked well for us. The rooms are large, which helped because my husband sleeps later than I do. I could get up, make coffee with the Keurig in the kitchen, and sit on the sofa with my computer. The kitchen also has a good sized fridge/freezer, sink, and dishwasher. Bring some dishwasher pods if you’re staying a few days. We both slept pretty well, though demolition and construction across the street started early, which could be a problem if you like to sleep in. We used public transportation. The hotel is one mile from Foggy Bottom train stop, in Georgetown near lots of cute shops and restaurants. We also walked up to the National Cathedral one morning. It was a hike, but a beautiful walk. This could save you a few bucks if you eat in your room, and there’s extra space.

A complete mess. After traveling from Denver, we arrived close to midnight and were given a dirty room. At the desk, they said there were no other rooms and we’d have to book somewhere else. They wouldn’t help us find a hotel or work through any other option. We offered to take another room type, change the sheets ourselves, or wait for them to change the sheets in that room. Every time, they just said they could cancel our reservation at midnight and we could contact other hotels. The front desk was dirty, and the staff wouldn’t provide a manager’s contact information. They were unwilling to solve the problem. I worked as a hotel front desk clerk for four years, and this was an embarrassment of a business. They need to close. What a joke!
