Hampton Inn Washington, D.C./White House

The location is nice and it’s quiet, but the room was pretty miserable. The bed felt like sleeping right on the springs, the free breakfast was inedible, and there was mold all over the bathroom. The building feels worn out and forgotten, with very old furnishings, scarce electrical outlets and USB access, and a slow, rickety elevator. This place should be condemned. The only good thing I can say is that we were out of the rain.

The team at Hampton Inn White House is some of the best I’ve dealt with while traveling. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful, and they sorted out two problems right away. My room’s heating seemed to be malfunctioning, so the front desk apologized and moved me to another room. Later, I realized at the airport, just before boarding my flight home, that I’d left an item behind. I called, filled out the form they helped me with, and by the time I landed they’d confirmed they found it. They sent tracking details within minutes after I asked them to ship it. That kind of service isn’t common. I’ve stayed here a few times for work and always enjoy it. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance, and the breakfast is delicious. Amber at the front desk made check-in effortless. She was cheerful, friendly, and ready to help with whatever we needed. Somehow she also knows everything about Hot Pockets, which was a highlight of the stay. Thanks for a great visit, Amber!

The standout was the customer service from Amber, Amika, and Anthony. I’d happily stay here again next time I’m in Washington DC. The location is handy, a couple of blocks from the White House and within walking distance of the Lincoln Memorial and some delicious restaurants. The bed was comfortable too, and the shower had perfect water pressure.
