We had a comfortable week here, and the location worked really well. There’s a Safeway across the street for snacks, and we enjoyed the breakfast and free coffee throughout the day. The staff were great across the board, from the front desk and housekeeping to the breakfast team. For a three-star hotel, some wear was what we expected: the bedding fabric felt inexpensive, and the headboard and floor showed it. Still, we had a good stay.

The room was clean when we arrived, and the lobby was comfortable and nicely done. We also appreciated the free breakfast and the grocery store right across the street. Overall, it was a decent stay. Parking is available on site for a fee. We stayed two nights but were charged for three, and getting a refund for the extra night was a hassle. The hotel is non-smoking, but people were clearly smoking in their rooms, and the smell spread across the whole floor.

The staff made this stay feel welcoming from check-in onward. Everyone was friendly and professional, and the front desk team kept checking that things were going well. Housekeeping also kept the room spotless each day. The room was spacious, nicely designed, and had a fully equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the evening social hour, too, and breakfast had plenty of fresh choices, including healthy ones. The fitness center, business area, and laundry were all in good shape. It’s near restaurants, attractions, and public transport, but the hotel felt quiet inside. I also felt safe there. Homewood Suites exceeded what I expected, and I’d come back for the comfort, cleanliness, and warm service, whether for work, a family trip, or a longer stay.

The kitchenette was handy, with a fridge, freezer, microwave, and small stove, and having Safeway just across the street made it easy to stock up. The included buffet breakfast worked well for us, served until 9 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends. We had to call someone up to fix an issue with the shower. There were no cots or rollaway beds, so my son made a little bed from sofa cushions and slept on the floor. Our suite had two double beds and a pull-out sofa. It would suit a family of five with small kids, but our three big teenagers made it a tight squeeze. We managed for our DC vacation. The $300 check-in deposit and parking fees of $55-65 a day, plus a $10 daily service fee, were costly. We also drove downtown and paid $30 a day for garage parking. If we came again, I’d use the electric scooters or bikes you can rent through different apps to get to the government buildings, monuments, and museums, and spend less on parking the car. There was a gym on site, though we didn’t use it since we walked so much.
