Residence Inn Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard

Breakfast was delicious, and my room stayed quiet and clean. I spent five nights here recently, and the staff made the stay especially nice. They were welcoming, kind, and always happy to help. Highly recommend.

There were great restaurants, a CVS, and everything else I needed within an easy walk. The staff were professional, friendly, and very helpful, and my room was clean with plenty of space to unwind after a long travel day.

The lobby is being renovated, but it didn’t affect the rooms or the quality of my stay. If you’re working around the Navy Yards area, this is a great place to stay. The General Manager has been very responsive and is handling the remodel well with her team.

The construction made the whole stay noisy and inconvenient, and the front desk service was unprofessional. This Residence Inn is damaging the Marriott brand. We arrived after 6 pm in late December, but our room still wasn’t ready, so we waited 20 minutes. When I asked the second-floor front desk where to leave the car, the employee said it was obvious and pointed impatiently out the window to the drop-off area. It was full. He also said the garage was full, though the valet later told us there were plenty of spaces. For all three days, construction began right at 8:30 am. Workers were tiling by the second-floor elevators and cutting tiles nearby, with dust visible in the air; other work was on the seventh floor. On checkout day, no elevator came to our floor, so after waiting, we carried all our luggage down the stairs. No one was at the desk. When an employee finally came over and asked how things were, I said bad. He didn’t ask what had happened. I was just relieved to leave.
