Quality Inn Waterbury East

The people outside at all hours of the night left us uneasy and made it hard to sleep. The room door didn’t close properly, so highway noise came through the gaps. The room smelled awful, and I couldn’t switch because I was told they were booked solid. I ended up buying Febreeze at Walmart just to get through the stay. The air conditioner worked well, but it blew cigarette smell around, so my choice felt like sweating or breathing smoke. There was grime on the walls and what looked like a smeared booger on the bathroom wall. The pillows were just pillowcases stuffed and rolled into balls. As we checked out, another guest was asking for his money back because it was so bad. No matter how cheap it is, pay more and stay somewhere else. Never again.

We stayed here and spent the whole night worried, with about 15 cops at the property when we arrived because of a stabbing. There wasn’t a remote in our room, and the phone didn’t work when we tried to call them. I’d sooner sleep on the street than stay here.

The room was disgusting, with hair and stains all over the filthy bed. The bathroom was extremely tiny, and this was probably the worst room I’ve ever stayed in. It barely qualifies as a motel, let alone a hotel, and the listing is misleading. On top of that, I saw a man grabbing a woman by the neck while she screamed in pain. I had to call the cops, and felt unsafe all night. This was traumatic. DO NOT STAY HERE. Whoever gave it five stars is wildly mistaken. I’d give it negative stars if I could.

The front desk guy was dishonest and the service was bad. We’d paid $100 per night online through a Super 8 third party booking site. When my dad arrived, the front desk guy told him the reservation had been canceled because the third party hadn’t paid the hotel, then tried to charge him the $125-130 nightly rate instead. My dad called him out on the scam, and it turned out the third party had paid. Suddenly the guy said my dad was all set, wouldn’t be charged, and handed over the room key. He did the same thing to another customer checking in. I’ll report this fraud to the state of CT so he learns not to scam people. Be careful, y’all. Never trust the guys working at this hotel.
